Far beyond our galaxy lies Planet Xylaris, home to two adventurous beings: Luma’Ka and Orbyn. Restless and curious, they often journeyed across the cosmos in search of new experiences-and one day, their travels led them to a small blue planet called Earth.

Eager to understand Earth’s culture, they explored its vibrant cities and eventually found themselves in the bustling streets of New York. Fascinated by the endless lights and towering buildings, they wandered down Fifth Avenue, where the news-stands were filled with colourful magazines and newspapers from around the world.

One afternoon, while browsing the stands, they picked up a copy of the Financial Times. Leafing through its pages, they discovered an article about backgammon, the game that had taken New York by storm. Curious, they followed the sounds of clattering dice into a nearby Union Square Park and watched players moving checkers with intense focus. The rhythm of the dice, the dance of the pieces, the mix of luck and strategy-they were enchanted.

When they returned to Planet Xylaris, they brought the game with them. Soon, under the glow of the planet’s twin moons, every Xylarian was rolling dice, competing, and laughing late into the night. In that moment, they declared themselves the Backgammon Guardians of Xylaris.
